March 20th 2025 throwback card sketch challenge

  Happy Thursday! The month is flying by and it's time for our last sketch of the month challenge!  As you know this year we are changing things up a bit and we kicked off 2025 with a new format!  We are now offering a new sketch just twice a month on the 1st and 5th, then on the 15th and 20th we are challenging you to create a layout or card using a throwback sketch!  We are also adding a "TWIST" challenge to all our sketches this year!  Each month we will have a "THEME" and each sketch will feature a "TWIST" based on that theme.

 This month's theme is: OVER THE RAINBOW

We have four fun throwback card sketches for you to choose from for today's challenge.  

Here are the sketches:

To participate in this challenge select one of the sketches and combine it with our TWIST which is to create a card using 3 colors of the rainbow and a touch of gold!

Jan:

For her card Jan used throwback sketch #52 and the colors green, indigo and red.  Her pops of gold are found in her ink splts and enamel dots!

Stephanie:

Stephanie used throwback card sketch #106 and the colors: green, indigo and blue on her card.  Her butterflies are her added touch of gold! 

Tina:

For her card Tina also used throwback card sketch #106 and the colors red, green and yellow on her card.  Tina's beautiful ribbon is her touch of gold!

March 15th sketch challenge

 Happy Saturday! The month is flying by and it's time for our mid-month sketch challenge!  As you know this year we are changing things up a bit and we kicked off 2025 with a new format!  We are now offering a new sketch just twice a month on the 1st and 5th, then on the 15th and 20th we are challenging you to create a layout or card using a throwback sketch!  We are also adding a "TWIST" challenge to our sketches this year!  Each month we will have a "THEME" and each sketch will feature a "TWIST" based on that theme.

Our twist for this challenge is to add a rainbow to your layout, it can be an embellishment, rainbow paper, a rainbow in your photo(s) etc.

February's featured artists

  Happy March! Thank you to everyone who joined us last month!  I think we can say it was an awesome month!!!  The DT was inspired by all the amazing entries shared both on the blog and in our Facebook group in February!!  What creative projects everyone shared!

It's time to announce our featured artists for February!  First up is our featured scrapper!  It was a hard choice again this month but the DT selected this amazing layout created by Cynthia using throwback sketch #236 for our February 15th sketch challenge!

The DT loved Cynthia's take on the sketch and how she used this large shield as the focal point of this beautifully embellished layout!

Next up is our featured card maker. Congratulations goes to Marilyn!  Marilyn used the February 5th card sketch to create her card.

February 15th 2025 sketch challenge

  Happy Saturday! The month is flying by and it's time for our mid-month sketch challenge!  As you know this year we are changing things up a bit and we kicked off 2025 with a new format!  We are now offering a new sketch just twice a month on the 1st and 5th, then on the 15th and 20th we are challenging you to create a layout or card using a throwback sketch!  We are also adding a "TWIST" challenge to all our sketches this year!  Each month we will have a "THEME" and each sketch will feature a "TWIST" based on that theme.

 This month's theme is: QUEEN OF HEARTS

We have four fun throwback sketches for you to choose from for today's challenge.  

Here are the sketches:

Our twist for this challenge is a HEART acrostic challenge: select one of the four sketches from the collage and use a scrappy item, technique, or theme for each letter in the word HEART.   Examples: H= heart or hexagon, E= edge distressing or embossing; A= anniversary, American Crafts, or aqua; R= red, rub ons or roller skating; T= tags, travel or turquoise.  You may use other things as well but at least one thing for each letter on your layout!
